Sam Maggs is an Assistant Writer for BioWare, and the bestselling author of The Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy and Wonder Women, both published by Quirk Books and distributed by Penguin Random House.

Sam has been named “Awesome Geek Feminist of the Year” and has been an Editor for a geek girl culture site, The Mary Sue. She has been published across the web and in other books about geek culture and gaming. The majority of her writing focuses on geek culture, and sometimes how it intersects with being a lady.

She has appeared on or moderated nerd culture panels at San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic Con, Emerald City Comicon, Calgary Expo, Fan Expo Canada, C2E2, and many others.

Shellane is a CrossFit Trainer, Model, and Student. Dean is a Firefighter. They prefer things that aren’t status quo, hence the name Cos A Commotion. During the week, their hectic schedules keep them busy. However, when the weekend rolls around, they cosplay at various conventions and competitions. They enjoy studying their characters and bringing them to life. Their most popular cosplay is Fish Mooney and Oswald Cobblepot from Gotham. They also enjoy portraying Rick Grimes and Michonne from AMC’s The Walking Dead.

TRINA NISHIMURA

Trina Nishimura has become a fixture in the anime scene over the past few years, primarily working with FUNimation Entertainment. At age 3, her family moved from Sacramento, California to Amarillo, Texas. She started doing plays and performing at the community theater at age 9, and continued through high school. She got her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of North Texas at Denton.

Trina was first cast in Desert Punk as the little hungry girl Namiko and has refused to leave the FUNimation property ever since. Her most notable credits include Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan), Black Cat (Tanya), Claymore (Flora and Sophia), Jyu Oh Se (Tiz), Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple (Shigure Kosaka), Speed Grapher (Yui), season one and two of Negima!? (Lingshen Chao and Motsu), Sasami: Magical Girl Club (Ayane), Baldr Force Exe (Tsukina Sasagiri), School Rumble and Yurippe School Rumble: 2nd Semester (Akira Takano), Baccano! K Arsenault Rivera was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, but moved to New York when she was a toddler. While not managing a nutritional supplement store in Brooklyn, K is an avid participant in the role-playing community, from which she drew inspiration for her debut novel, The Tiger’s Daughter. She currently lives in Brooklyn with her partner.

In 2001 Beth Sotelo began working in the comic book industry as a colorist for Top Cow Productions and has since worked for Aspen Comics, DC, and Marvel. Her recent coloring credits include DC Comic’s Suicide Squad: Most Wanted, Joe Benitez’s Lady Mechanika, and coloring/illustration work for 20th Century Fox.
